Danny Brown really hasn’t put out a project since his debut album ‘XXX’, but he’s been all over the place with features, such as:
Toxic (With Childish Gambino – R O Y A L T Y)
Flight Confirmation (Feat. Schoolboy Q; Alchemist – Russian Roulette)
Coke & White Bitches (Feat. A$AP Ant, Fat Trel & Gunplay – Lord$ Never Worry)
Terrorist Threats (With Ab-Soul & Jhene Aiko – Control System)
Molly Ringwald (Produced by Araabmuzik)
He’s currently on tour with A$AP Rocky & ScHoolboy Q, but hopefully once he gets off, he provides us with a new mixtape or an album. He’s still collectively building up an audience with notable shows at Soundset & Pitchfork Music Festival. BUT, since he’s the rapper that is known to go outside of the box when it comes to his sound (it helps that he has a dope producer like skywlker to back him up), he teamed up with a UK Producer that goes by the name of Darq E Freaker.
Blueberry (Pills & Cocaine) was a video that I watched a few months back, but I didn’t know that there was an EP that had a mix of different instrumentals on it (I bought it on iTunes and it ended up not working -_-) I love the original song (the video is dope too), and the mix of beats on the EP is…interesting to say the least, but you have to respect him for going outside the norm. That’s kind of why I like him in the first place.
His crew is called Bruiser Brigade (also a song from his ‘XXX’ album –> Danny Brown – Bruiser Brigade Lyrics), and they’re not a powerhouse like Slaughterhouse or TDE, but they have a dope sound to them, and I’m pretty sure that’s the least of their concerns. This dropped, and I must say, it’s pretty damn good. Production is wicked, and throw in some aggressive lyrics over it, and you’re good to go.
For more Danny Brown music, check out the Artist Profile (click the link at the top), and do enjoy. He’s different, but he’s 100% real about everything. One of those authentic rappers that can really be appreciated because he doesn’t emulate anyone else’s style. He just does him, and that’s what’s missing in the game. I have to respect the man.
