I had ‘No Ordinary Love’ stuck in my head all day, and I was like, “You know what? I love me some Sade, so why shouldn’t I pay homage to the Queen?” And here we are, many hours later. February is amongst us, which means Valentine’s Day is soon approaching, so an R&B tribute is suitable at this time (especially since I’ve been heavy on the rap lately).
I grew up listening to Sade (Thank you Mom), and her voice IS directly from angels in the clouds or where ever you believe they are in existence. She’s had so many hits, and her songs are the perfect remedy for a broken heart, or if you’re trying to set the mood right for baby making love (we’re all grown here, let’s be honest). Her music is somewhat an entrancement for people who value the soul and love to get lost in the words of the wise. Sade’s perfect for that.
I had to choose this album, but then I was also conflicted to choose arguably her best album Lover’s Rock, so I said “Fuck it, YOLO,” and I’ll give you both, because I’m just that generous. So enjoy them, and get the rest of her discography if you happen to enjoy her.
