Throwback Album of the Day – Black on Both Sides – Mos Def

I was playing ‘Mr. Nigga,’ on my iPod the other day, and I said “self…I think the people need this,” and thus, this is my selection. An amazing album by Mr. Mos Def (or whatever he goes by now (Yasiin Bey?? No thanks). Mos Def has a catalog that embraces the soul of hip hop. His smooth flow over soul beats is just an adage to reaffirm the greatness of hip hop in the 90s. We need that vibe to come back, and slowly it will matriculate its way back. We can only hope, at least, that he continues to put out more music (Talib Kweli, I’m looking at you for a new Blackstar album), but for now, enjoy this, because it’s a definite must have for your library (seems like I’ve been saying that for the majority of the albums I post, but it’s nothing but truth). Enjoy.
