Throwback Album of the Day – Supernatural – Carlos Santana

Another soundtrack of my life growing up. It came out when I was 10 years old, and it’s been a regularly played album in my household ever since. Bringing the Latin sounds, mixed in with hip hop and a little bit (not a lot) of Rock & Roll, this album was the first time I really heard something that was so musically diverse on one album. Carlos Santana is one of the greatest musicians ever. His music is timeless, and I don’t think that’s something that can be up for debate, because it’s purely facts. We also share a birthday (CANCERS TO DI WORLD MI SEY!!), so that also adds in a little bit of bias. ‘Maria maria’ was the JAM back then, and even to this day, whenever I hear it, I have no choice but to do a half speed salsa or a little two-step. If you’ve never heard it, I encourage you to do so, because it’s one to have (as are the rest of the T.A.O.Ds I’ve posted beforehand). Enjoy.
