Throwback Album of the Day – Tha Carter I & II – Lil Wayne

DaWayne “Struggle” Carter, at one point, wasn’t a struggle rapper. He had classic hits. The first of ‘Tha Carters’ is arguably the best one. Many people would say that ‘Tha Carter 2’ was better, so I’ve provided both. Lil Wayne has come a long way since being a member of the Hot Boyz; himself and Birdman built up the “empire” YMCMB (because I don’t really see it as an empire, even though they generate a majority of music for the mainstream industry), and he put out Tha Carters 3 & 4, which generated a massive amount of sales, despite the quality of music falling off (especially 4 smh). Lil Wayne needs Mannie Fresh back on his beats, because that’s when he was in his prime, and now, we can only hope for some of the old Wayne to resurface, but while he’s prancing in his Uggs and sipping lean, that won’t happen. So, enjoy.
