No word of a lie, yesterday when Banks dropped his latest single ‘Jackpot‘, I was so hyped for it, that I started playing a crap load of G-Unit songs off my iPod with reckless abandon. I swear to you, I was in my room just….going nuts. Why? I have no idea, but this album was, and still is, HOT fire. I grew up listening to G-Unit heavily (I had GRODT as a throwback album a while back), and this album was one that was on repeat for a long time. Every track just came in as hard as the next one, so it was one that you really couldn’t stop listening to. From ‘Playboy’ to ‘I’m to Fly’ to ‘Warrior’ to ‘Southside Story,’ the list REALLY goes on and on and on. So, it would have been crazy of me to not show this album any love, because if you really think about it, if Banks had the same buzz as 50, I don’t see how this couldn’t have been one of the greatest hip hop albums of the past 10 years. Lloyd Banks is STILL heavily underrated, and it’s a crying shame, because after 50, he was the best in G-Unit, and he has dropped nothing but heat (I’m iffy about Rotten Apple, but HFM2 & both Cold Corner 1 & 2 mixtapes). He deserves more respect than he’s shown, so it’s only fitting that he gets the respect here, so please, enjoy this, and if you don’t have this or the rest of the music I’ve listed off, you need that in your life. Enjoy.
