FINALLY!
I’m going to tell you from now, that I’ve been anticipating this mixtape for quite some time now. If you haven’t heard of Marcky Goldchain, he’s a rapper from Virginia (who I thought was from Chicago for the longest time, don’t ask how I got that confused), and he’s also a cool guy with a genuine personality. The first song I heard (and first video I watched) from him, was a track he did over Drake’s ‘Headlines.’ He impressed me from the jump. His style was cool, and he flowed really well. Then as time went on, I heard a couple more songs (ironically, they’re from this mixtape) and I liked how he was able to switch up his style and rap over a variety of sounds. It shows that he’s not one that just sticks to the regular basics, but he expands his horizons, and that’s what the game is missing a lot of. Versatility. I just hope that he improves where need be, and continues putting in work, because he can really be something one day, and that’s 100% truth.
This mixtape is so chill, you might as well label it as trill. I thought there was a bit of ASAP Rocky/SpaceGhostPurrp/Drake influence, but it was all meshed into a quality sounding mixtape. For a first, by just getting his name out and showing off who he is, this is a great first impression, so have a listen, and I encourage you to follow him on twitter, because you never know what other good music he’ll provide, and he’s a bit on the funny side (@MarckyGoldchain), but for now, enjoy the mixtape.
