I was listening to this mixtape ’95 Live’ and the main rapper was going over this beat. He ripped the flow, and I was like, “damn, this song was so sick, and the beat is too smooth,” so I decided to make it the throwback of the day. Why not? R.I.P The Notorious B.I.G, one of the greatest (most would argue THEE greatest) to ever do it. There won’t be another innovator of such a diversified flow, so we can dwell in the remains of the music that he’s left us. Junior M.A.F.I.A was a legit clique, and Lil Kim in the 90s was “unfuckwitable.” It’s sad that she’s changed so much (physically and mentally), and hip hop itself has changed along with her, but that’s why music is always available for us to pick at and listen to, no matter the era it was made. Enjoy.
