First thing’s first, one golden star goes to the title paying homage to Outkast’s first album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, and given that I’m not a weed smoker, the significance of the release of the mixtape doesn’t mean much to me, but I know for the majority of people who do smoke, they’ll appreciate it in more ways than I possibly will, and there’s nothing wrong with that (I also don’t go to church either, but that’s for another day).
If you’re at all in touch with Hip Hop in Toronto, if you haven’t heard a song from The 6th Letter, I’m sure you at least heard of him, because he’s performed at numerous shows, and has had a lot of buzz (along with Raz Fresco) to generate for himself in order to get to this point. It’s been a long time coming since people first started hearing about 6th’s newest project , and it was only a matter of time before it was released. Fueled with the production (solely by Raz Fresco) and medicinal influence, the tape carries a vibe right through that does take you back in time, and whether you’re high or not, you get into it with no problem. There was never any shroud of doubt when it comes down to 6th’s ability to rap, so it’s no surprise that the mixtape came out so well. Good timing as the weather “seems” to be getting better. Enjoy your 4/20 in whichever way you spend it, but definitely get this on your playlist.
