One thing that I really admire when it comes to seeing artists grow, is strictly that – their growth. Many times, I have come across people who have made a splash and haven’t fully embraced that development to take themselves to the next level in what they want to do. You also see people start off on a goal and don’t follow through because their tunnel vision is tainted. I first knew Avah Coco as Elle van Rock, who made a YouTube video with her covering a couple of Drake songs. That was 3 years ago. Now, she’s discovered the sound she wants to ‘rock’ with and has her first music video. What I appreciate is the fact that she didn’t quit. Development takes time, and so here we are. You can call it House, Trance, or EDM, but it’s thunderous, energetic, and I’m sure there will be more to come. It’s not common (for me at least) to hear sounds like this coming out of the city, but it provides more uniqueness and various styles that we have to offer.
