Okay, so it’s not EXACTLY a throwback album because it only came out 4 1/2 years ago, but this is a classic album. I know the word is overused & abused, but from start to finish, lyrically & production wise, it’s an album that’s a must have for future generations to reminisce on. This album really inspired me while I was working on projects or just getting through tough days. My favourite songs on the album are The Coolest & Put You On Game. Dumb It Down is probably one of the smartest raps songs ever recorded, simply because it breaks down the entire industry while keeping up with complex rhymes that can easily surpass you. Brilliant work by Lupe, and I just wish that THIS was the same Lupe that gave us the un-holiest of evils that was Lasers. I don’t care what you say, that was GAR-BAGE!! I’m still upset that I bought that, but of course….you never know. SO, with that all being said, as the world patiently waits for Food & Liquor 2, enjoy this album for now (and grab Food & Liquor while you’re at it).
That’s My Word & It STiXX
Miss the old Lupe. So much better
Hi there, I have nominated your blog for the Versatile Blogger Award. Please visit: http://maryannepale.com for more details. Enjoy your day! 🙂
If you like Lupe Fiasco, I think you might like my blog, Rhymes and Reasons. It is a series of interviews with hip-hop heads who discuss their lives in the context of a few songs that matter to them. The interviews tend to focus on questions of justice like racism, sexism, sexual violence, white privilege, etc. I hope you enjoy it.
