(Mixtape) Luney Tunes EP – Lux Pack

This mixtape comes from one of my Twitter folks. He goes by the name of Mars (@MarsxDon) and he’s not only an entertaining guy, a profound thinker, a man who doesn’t hold his tongue for no one, and is not afraid to spark some controversy here and there, but he’s somewhat of an old soul trapped in a young man’s body. His musical knowledge (especially on hip hop) is broader than a lot of people who I know, including people older than myself. Shoot, if it wasn’t for him, I would have never heard of Chuuwee and other artists, so he definitely knows what he’s talking about.

Aside from that, he’s a rapper, and of course, when people on social networks promote themselves as rappers and whatnot, there’s the occasional roll of the eyes, but taking him in, he does have some bars, and given the fact that he studies hip hop as if it was a university course, I’m not surprised by the fact that the feel of his music is reminiscent of the early 90s, because of the soulful beats, and the simplistic flow blended in with a complex rhyme scheme

. He’s a young guy, so he definitely has a lot of time to greatly improve in his game, but after listening to this EP, he’s set his bar at a nice level for himself and fellow duo member Mialo. I’m a supporter of indie music & the underground, because that’s where the real talent lies, and this is some talent that is waiting to manifest into something great. I look forward to the future EPs that Mars will bring, and I will keep you updated, but for now, listen to Luney Tunes, and hear what I’m hearing. But, for now
