A Tribe Called Quest, yes you have to say the whole thing; thank you A Pimp Named Slickback, is one of my favourite hip hop groups right up there with Outkast simply because of the funky hip hop flow that they brought to the table. The crafty back and forth wordplay between Q-Tip & Fife made them one of the best duos, and the hits? Man, the hits are timeless. I’ll be 50 years old and still listening to A Tribe Called Quest, there’s no argument about that at all.

The reason that I felt that it was right to choose these albums was simple: They’re classic albums, and I felt like if I chose one, I automatically would have to choose the other. That’s about it. Endless debates have been made about which one was better. but in the case of what’s number 1 or 2 can’t exist. It’s simply 1a & 1b, because they’re equally great and consistent, so I couldn’t possibly choose just one. So, without further adieu, enjoy these albums, and if you’re new to ACTQ, these will put you on the right track.
