Throwback Album of the Day – Only Built 4 Cuban Linx – Raekwon & Ghostface Killah

“Wu Tang again and again…”

I don’t think you people understand the love I have for Wu Tang. Since I could remember memorizing lyrics, I’ve been listening to Wu Tang. My uncle Mikey would play them non stop whenever I visited my grandparents. It was apart of my childhood, and it’s crazy that to this day, they’re still relevant to me. This album is raw, gritty, and essentially the pure essence of what Hip Hop sounded like in the 90s. It can be visualized as a harsh cold, ashy knuckles, cold concrete type of style that was hard to ignore, and Raekwon & Ghost LITERALLY cooked some fire on this one (hence Raekwon’s nickname being Chef). The back and forth flow, and the chemistry of the two great rappers on this album was pure genius. I love this album, and if you’re not familiar with it, then I suggest that you start now. Enjoy.
