Kudos to you if you got the Matrix reference before looking at the picture; I like you already. Ok, so we’re involved with this thing called life, right? And we would like but nothing else to be happy and successful in this life, right? But, we often come through these obstacles that make this thing called life, a little difficult, right? I’m saying ‘right’ too many times for your liking, right? Wrong. There is only right and no wrong. Ahh, but we have stumbled on quite the conundrum (I actually know that word, thank you very much). How do we know what’s right and what’s wrong? We would have to make that choice as to which one is which, wouldn’t we? We would in fact need to make a ‘decision,’ wouldn’t we? Of course we would. There are so many scenarios that we get ourselves involved with that call to make a decision. We’re always making decisions for ourselves, and thus they determine the next steps in our journeys down the road in this thing we call life.

Neo was faced with a difficult decision in The Matrix; he had to choose between his regular bullshit life, or to take the chance and see what else was out there that he could experience. Eventually he chose the red & thus 2 more movies were made, in one of the more exciting movie trilogies. Aside from that point, it all comes down to making a decision for oneself to see if you’ll either progress or regress in life. No one wants to be the same and to be ordinary (unless that’s what you like, then more power to you), because being the same and ordinary doesn’t do much for you in terms of making yourself better, and I’m just talking about the people who live mediocre lives and want to do something about it; if you happen to be well off with money and you’re living comfortably, by all means, ignore what I’m saying, but I highly doubt that people who are well off with money and living comfortably are taking time out of their days to read this, so allow myself to move on.
Money is the root of all evil, we know this, we’re familiar with it, it’s a gift, it’s more of a curse, we need it, we want it, we literally can’t live without it, and it’s by far one of the biggest reasons when it comes to making a decision. “It’s a lot of money, I don’t know” “well, it would benefit me in the long run” “Man, this is a tough choice.” A variety of those phrases have been said or thought about. There are a lot of things that prevent us from making certain choices that affect our lives, and we wish that we couldn’t worry about these things, but as a part of this thing that we call life, it’s pretty much a requirement.

What school should I go to that will give me the best choice to get a career? A car first or a new apartment? Do I go on this trip or do I stay home to save money? So many choices, so many options, but at the end of the day, it’s a decision that we’ll either love or hate. We can’t predetermine the outcome, it’s only in us to really make the say.
There are people who flat-out make bad decisions because they feel as if they’re going to be good in the long run. Look, I’m not here to judge, but if you’d rather sell drugs than an actual 9-5 because that’s your only legitimate option, and you feel as if that’s going to be your bread and butter for years to come, that’s all on you, but unlike a handful of people, it doesn’t always end up in your favour, but like I’ve stated, I’m not one to judge, because I almost did it myself, because I really felt like there was no other option. Thank God it didn’t work out to be that way, but it all comes back to making that decision that can affect your life in a major way.
The main reason why I wrote about this topic is because that there are a lot of forks in the road that we come to, and we make it harder on ourselves to make an actual decision. I was stressing out earlier because of a decision to either handle all of my dental care and throw away my hard-earned money (although, I have insurance), or to continue focusing on the bigger things in life that I wish to accomplish, like my driver’s license and my own place (which would come faster with a better job than I already have). The decision really is quite simple. My mouth can wait. My teeth aren’t falling off of my jaw, and it really took my mom to show me that, while I worrying about life in my room. She helps…a lot.
I wrote this for the people who are stuck at the fork in the road with no sense of direction, the ones who don’t trust their instincts and are precarious to change in their surroundings. There’s nothing wrong with adding a little spice in your life, and there’s definitely nothing wrong with going outside of the box. These decisions are put in place to help you grow as a person. You can either choose to go with it, or not go forward. You don’t want to go on about life revolving in the same circle. Break the line and create your own shapes. Why not? Give it a try. Make that decision that can impact you for years to come. Nothing’s prevented you this far, so live a little; you don’t know what you’ll find on the other side of the door unless you turn the knob.
