The last track I heard ‘new’ from Jay Rock was a freestyle of Pusha T’s Numbers On The Board, and as ScHoolboy Q gears up to drop Oxymoron, the question for a couple of years has been “where’s that new Jay Rock at?” Well, with the President of TDE claiming that a project will be dropped by every member of the crew, and with 2 down in the first quarter (Isaiah Rashad was first up with Cilvia Demo), there’s no doubt that Jay Rock will be giving the world a follow up to Follow Me Home (which is still a great album, by the way). By the way Jay & Kendrick are rhyming on this track, it sounds like an older style, but it’s not bad. Slower pace, but it’s still the style of Jay Rock that I’ve grown accustomed to. Maybe it’s a sign of things to come, but until then, we’ll enjoy the music.
