Tales of the Tatts – Kevin

Back again on what seems to be a yearly post (the last one was in 2013, my goodness) but hopefully this will energize more posts to come forward; if not, I’m not tripping. Part of the reason why I enjoy these posts are because of the people who speak about some of their most personal stories for people all over to read when it’s too much to say in person just what they’re all about. And also, it’s great therapeutic exercise for many, which I encourage, so please indulge. Enjoy.

Tattoos? A lot of people love them, a lot of people dislike them, & a lot of people are very indecisive about them. No matter what the reason you can’t help but admire them.

P.U.S.H. – Push Until Something Happens

Originally known for meaning ‘Pray Until Something Happens’ I switched ‘Pray’ with ‘Push’ due to me not praying everyday, but never giving up on myself when problems arose. This being my first tattoo, I had to get something that reflected my life 100% – P.U.S.H. was that tattoo. Speaking for myself and arguably everyone in the world, we all strive to become a better person, have a better life, and ultimately be better than we were the day before — PUSH.

Faith & Commitment

Without one the other can not exist. You have Faith in believing you can achieve something but not willing to put in the time and work. You can’t obtain whatever it is you want by just simply believing it will come to you. Hard work and dedication are key factors. This is my life. From friends to family, I’ve always heard how much effort I put into anything I do. I always believe (and still do) that I was destined to be great and I won’t stop until I get there.

Lloyd Metz

An inspiration to my life, a very humble and wise man, a man who could brighten up a room by just walking in and saying hello, but overall my Grandfather. He was taken from this world in 1999 but not a day goes by that I don’t stop to think about how my life would have been today if he was still around. He showed me nothing but love as if I was his own son and always took the time for me no matter what the hour was. The reason why I got a King chess piece is because, no matter if he came for a week or a day, we would sit, play chess and just bond. A King, being the most important character to the game, it best represents the most important person to my life. So with my 3rd tatt, also my first graphic tatt, it was only right to honour the man who forever lives in my heart and stays vivid in my memories. I wouldn’t be here to write this piece if it wasn’t for him.

No matter what the tattoo is, if it means something to you then embrace it. Tattoos display an untold story or memory through one picture or symbol, whether you decide to put it on your arm for the world to see or somewhere for your eyes only. It speaks out about the life you’ve lived.
