I’ve been asking about what happened to Miguel & Frank Ocean. Frank dropped a new track (memrise), and out of nowhere (again, Beyonce is to blame/thank for popularizing this trend although Drake also did this earlier) Miguel drops three new tracks in an EP format (much like OG Maco’s Breathe). I’ve sat with this for a few days and although Coffee is still not my cup of tea, there’s no denying that this is is a solid little snippet that’ll hold over for an eventual album, which is very necessary. BJ the Chicago Kid and, recently enough, D’Angelo have been (P.O.P) holding it down for male R&B, and in 2015, the hope is that it’ll continue to flourish for the better. The revitalization of the soul is necessary. We’ll see what happens. This year started hot, skydived into mediocrity, and somehow floated into a nice finish. 2015 looks to be more anticipated than ever, so until we usher in a new year, welcome some new music to carry you on out.
