Speak It Into Existence – Vent LXXIV

“Dream only a dream if work don’t follow it” – Kendrick Lamar [Institutionalized]

One of the greatest pieces of advice that came from my mother, along with many other words throughout the years, is to “write everything down.” That means ideas, that means goals, that means feelings, that means ambitions. Writing it down brings another level of consciousness that isn’t easily as erasable as typing it on a computer program, but at the same time, these are still your thoughts flowing. As the common saying of “if you can think it, you can do it” goes, there are many ways in which you can project the things that you want in life, but as another saying of “be careful what you wish for” goes, that also holds true for when you speak certain things into the universe.

Now, this isn’t something that a lot of people have a belief in, but like many conversations with mama (the only Drake reference I’ll make here if that came to mind for you), there is something that is not within our control – well, Life would be that, but in terms of a higher power; some people call it God, many other people call it something else, but there’s something that I’ve shared this belief with, and I’ve seen it be proven time and time again.

I know wisdom, I know bad religion, I know good karma
I know everything, I know history
I know the universe works mentally
I know the perks of bullshit isn’t meant for me”
– Kendrick Lamar [Momma]

“Thoughts are things,” and in this everlasting quote machine of a vent, it’s clear that there’s a lot that I connect with when it comes to the human actions in this thing called life (RIP Prince). I try to live my life with a sense of goodness, common sense, understanding, tolerance, and charisma, because truly, I don’t know when my time will come. It could be tomorrow or it could be right after I post this, but truly there are no guarantees. When you say things aloud or write down goals, it gives you and whatever surrounding forces of will an urge of motivation to align things in your favour, but it’s not enough to write things down – you have to work. It has to be something that you want bad enough that you’ll go great lengths to achieve. That’s what makes it so rewarding, and that’s why the way of the world is such an interesting puzzle that many have tried to solve for thousands of years. We just don’t know how the world works, and it’s always something that has been intriguing to me.

Of all of the things that have been brought to my life in this year 2017 so far, a lot of it can be attributed to the fact that I wrote things down, and decided that I wanted better for myself. Writing down more goals and having conversations with people of good vibrations about what I felt I deserved in this life, really came to be. My attitude has changed, my spirit has evolved, and honestly, I’m just happy as the days go by. Never taking anything for granted, and never abusing the position that I hold as a citizen; I practice patience but never far from determination, which carries my work ethic. Stay focused on the outcome. It’s a grind, but it’s worth it, believe me.
