There’s not a lot that I can say positively about Guyana (okay, that’s not all the way true), but when music is involved, the only thing out of that country is usually Soca and Calypso (I bet someone will check me on that, but it doesn’t bother me). Money Makin’ Nique has been featured on this blog before, because this MC from the ‘New Atlanta‘ movement knocks out great projects (Gas Money & Lion King EP for examples), and I had been anticipating Guyana Gold for some time now. At first, you wouldn’t think that he’s from Atlanta, but through listening to this project, that Southern sound is very vivid. Keeping with the raw and gritty nature of his rhymes, an inclusion of other Atlanta artists Rome Fortune & ForteBowie (to name a couple), and more Araabmuzik beats, this is definitely a step in the right direction for him. Enjoy this, and definitely check out his previous work to get caught up.
